Airport Yoga

I’ve had an idea for awhile now. It’s one of those ideas that sits on the back burner, maybe indefinitely. But I like it nonetheless. Yoga classes in airports. They’d be short, maybe 20 minutes, 2 every hour. They would include simple neck, shoulder, and hip stretches to counteract the stresses of flying.

Well, guess what I just found out? While there are no yoga classes happening at airports as of yet, there are yoga rooms! San Francisco International Airport and Dallas Forth Worth both have dedicated yoga spaces for their flyers. They are free and have mats for use.

So SEA-TAC, are you next?

Totally wonderful idea. Especially now, when airports are such stressful places, and everyone’s rushing to make connections, even a few minutes of stretch can do so much to relieve anxiety, stress, exhaustion, etc.

If you’re into it, why not relax before you board? If anyone has tips on how this works, please let us know.

I am a regular visitor to the DFW Yoga Spot 🙂

Will have to check this out the next time I fly out of SFO or have a long enough layover at DFW!

  5. I live 5 miles away from Sea Tac. This is one I have thought about for awhile. I always do yoga before getting on a plane unless it is a running connection.
